Our Employee Member of the Month is not only answering various questions about Dynatrace, but also participates in most of our biweekly challenges. So this award is our way of saying “thank you” for all his activity in the Dynatrace forum. Ladies and gentlemen, let me present to you: @Justin H.
Can you tell a little bit about your professional life? What is your role in the company and what do you do in your job?
I'm a part of the Expert Services team within Dynatrace. As a part of that team, I work as a consultant for our clients and help them overcome some of their challenges through the use of our product. Before I found my way to Dynatrace I worked for a couple of other companies doing mainly data analytics and reporting while I earned my CS degree.
What Dynatrace products do you use? What do you like the most about them?
I mainly use Dynatrace SaaS and Managed. I think Dynatrace Managed is my favorite product. It's really cool how the product has been adapted to provide the same functionality one would get with the SaaS product but in a way that allows an organization to keep their data on-premise.
Have you ever had any interesting use case for the Dynatrace product, that you found out to be particularly intriguing? Could you tell us about it?
I always find Dynatrace's problem detection capabilities pretty incredible and intriguing. I've seen on more than one occasion where an anomaly detected, alerted on, and coupled with a detailed root cause analysis has helped an organization (an incredibly large one at that) pinpoint the causation of a problem and respond to it in lightning-fast time.
Why do you contribute to the Community? What is your best memory about it?
I mainly contribute to hide the fact that I get a lot more from it than I give. I try to read some of the questions and answers posted on the forum every morning. It helps me come into contact with different parts of the product on a daily basis.
Plus it just always feels good knowing that you helped somebody. I think my best memories from the Community are when I can pass on some of the knowledge that I've learned from it to a colleague or client. If one person has a question, at some point in time someone else will probably have the same one.
And how about your life outside the IT – what is your biggest passion?
I love travelling, exploring different cities and meeting new people in them. I'm pretty passionate about reading books (I try to do 4 a month) and writing. I also really enjoy going to concerts and listening to music, it’s not unusual to find me with headphones on jamming to some artists that I love.
It would also be great if you could share with us your favorite movie, song and/or a book. Let other Community members discover something new and interesting to watch/hear/read 🙂
Movie: Toss-up between Pride & Prejudice (the one with Keira Knightley) and Spirited Away
Book: Scythe
Song: Lunette - Made In Heights
Thank you for the interview and for being here with us Justin! Spirited Away is also one of my favorites. Congratulation for getting the title of Employee Member of the Month – I hope that your competitiveness will not stop here 😉
