The Employee of the Month for February 2020 was very visible on the forum during the last two months and we couldn’t be happier about that. His insights about Dynatrace helped many users with their questions about various topics. Let’s all meet @Jonathan S.!
Can you tell a little bit about your professional life? What is your role in the company and what do you do in your job?
I have been a Consultant for Dynatrace Services for a little over 2 years now. I work on-site at Dynatrace Customers helping them to realize the full value of the Dynatrace products they use. I handle everything Dynatrace on the customer site from onboarding new applications into Dynatrace to training new users on how to effectively use the product.
What Dynatrace products do you use? What do you like the most about them?
I have used Dynatrace Managed, AppMon and NAM on customer sites. What I like most about Dynatrace is how quickly and easily you can go from unmonitored to getting valuable insights by simply installing the OneAgent. The OneAgent takes care of so many things you would need to worry about with other monitoring tools freeing you up to further configure Dynatrace to provide to most value to your organization.
Have you ever had any interesting use case for the Dynatrace product, that you found out to be particularly intriguing? Could you tell us about it?
I don’t have any specific interesting use cases I can think of, but I love all of the different things you can do through the Dynatrace API. From automating configurations to pulling down metrics for display in another tool there are so many things you can do through the API.
Why do you contribute to the Community? What is your best memory about it?
Dynatrace has so many use cases that many questions may not be answered inside documentation or other places, but you can ask on the forum and there is always someone there who has gone through that specific use case (or something similar) and can offer guidance.
And how about your life outside the IT – what is your biggest passion?
Outside of work I like to play/watch all kinds of sports. I especially love travelling to different places and taking in their culture and food on the way to watching whatever sport is big there.
It would also be great if you could share with us your favorite movie, song and/or a book. Let other Community members discover something new and interesting to watch/hear/read 🙂
Check out anything written by Kurt Vonnegut, my favorite being Cat’s Cradle. I like the band “The Front Bottoms”. Also, go see 1917 before it's out of the theaters because it was amazing.
I have already booked tickets for 1917, heard many great things about it. Thank you once again for your contributions in the Answers forum Jonathan! Many great games to watch, with your favorite team winning of course! 🙂
