With the start of the 2020, I have a great pleasure to introduce our first Employee Member of the Month for this year – @Siavash H.! Let’s know him a little bit better through this short interview:
Can you tell a little bit about your professional life? What is your role in the company and what are you doing in your job?
I work as a consultant for the EMEA Services team for 2 years now. My team and I enable the use of Dynatrace for our customers. One day, I could be giving training to tens of engineers, the next day I could be setting up the solutions in the IT landscape of our customers. Because of the variety of customers, use cases and solutions, no day is the same at Dynatrace for a consultant.
What Dynatrace products do you use? What do you like the most about them?
As a consultant, I often use a variety of platforms. Of course, Dynatrace Managed/SaaS has been our primary platform for quite some time now. Dynatrace gives answers, rather than just data. The end-users of the platform could be anyone, from DevOps and developers to people from the business side. All this from a single solution is what makes the platform great and life as a consultant even greater. I get to interact with all manner of people and teams.
Have you ever had any interesting use case for the Dynatrace product, that you found to be particularly intriguing? Could you tell us about it?
Dynatrace is such an extensible platform nowadays that I often see new and unique use cases at our customers and partners. What I love the most is how we can simply build new extensions and how it works fluently with Dynatrace.
Why do you contribute to the Community? What is your best memory about it?
Even consultants don’t know everything. Every day I tend to check the Community for contributions, not only from my colleagues but also partners and end-users. The answers to questions, use cases and sometimes problems are what keep my knowledge up to date. Of course, I like to contribute my knowledge of the platform and use cases too. This way it’ll remain accessible for others to find and for the Community to grow.
And how about your life outside the IT – what is your biggest passion?
I love travelling and foreign cuisines. Nothing gives me greater joy than being thousands of miles away from home and trying out the most exotic dishes. This could be from a street food stall in Hanoi to a fine dining restaurant in Singapore. Travelling and discovering new places and landmarks are what I live for outside of Dynatrace, but for an afternoon break you can also find me at the hotel pool reading a book.
It would also be great if you could share with us your favorite movie, song and/or a book. Let other members of community discover something new and interesting to watch/hear/read 🙂
I won’t recommend a tech book, because I think most of us already know the must-reads. But I think An Artist of the Floating World by Kazuo Ishiguro is a novel that should be read by everyone at least once. It’s not a long book either, so the perfect companion for a short trip.
Congratulations Siavash for winning the Employee Member of The Month award and thank you for your contributions in our Community! And the book from Kazuo Ishguro for sure is going to my to-read list for this year 😉
