Hello Dynatrace Community!
It’s time to reveal the name of the next winner of our Employee Member of the Month for July 2020. This choice was one of the most obvious of all. Ari is in our Top 20 Leaderboard of All time Users. Almost 200 answers, and 140 comments – incredible work all around. It's finally a time to reward him for his great job in the forum. Thank you, Ari, for being here, and let’s hear your story!
Can you tell a little bit about your professional life? What is your role in the company and what do you do in your job?
I am a Sr. Consultant with Dynatrace Services and have been in this role for about 5 years now. My job is to work closely with Dynatrace customers and help them realize the full value of Dynatrace and get a return on their investment. This involves everything from onboarding new applications and helping with configurations to training new users.
What Dynatrace products do you use? What do you like the most about them?
I primarily use Dynatrace (SaaS) now and have heavily used AppMon and Classic Synthetic in the past. I love how easy it is to get started with Dynatrace (especially compared to older generation tools). I think the OneAgent technology is revolutionary and makes it so much easier to get started with minimal config. And the automation opportunities on top of that are endless.
Have you ever had any interesting use case for the Dynatrace product, that you found out to be particularly intriguing? Could you tell us about it?
Where do I begin? 🙂 My favorite use case is one that is still ongoing. One of my customers is looking to replace their in-house business focused reporting/monitoring solutions which took them years to build and maintain. Using Dynatrace (RUM in particular), we’ve been able to show them how easy it is to show the true experience of their end users. Something that took them weeks/months to develop now takes less than a day to build in Dynatrace (through the use of custom dashboards, USQL etc.)
Why do you contribute to the Community? What is your best memory about it?
A lot of my knowledge of Dynatrace comes from learning from others and the Community allows me to give back and help the user and knowledge base grow. I particularly love seeing how enthusiastic some of the customer members are about the product.
And how about your life outside the IT – what is your biggest passion?
My biggest passion is definitely the outdoors, especially mountainous regions. One of the highlights of my life was visiting Iceland and being able to explore the landscape there which honestly feels out of this world. I recently moved to Colorado specifically to be closer to all the amazing National Parks in the US.
It would also be great if you could share with us your favorite movie, song and/or a book. Let other Community members discover something new and interesting to watch/hear/read 🙂
Media – I am currently obsessed with the show ‘Dark’. It’s a German show on Netflix (do not watch the English dub, just watch it in German with subtitles). Would definitely recommend watching it, can’t wait for the final season (Season 3) coming out.
Music – So hard to pick a favorite since it changes almost on a daily basis. My favorite band is a relatively unknown band called Circa Survive but love most kinds of rock (especially alternative rock) music. Fun fact, I was in a Blink 182 cover band in high school ha-ha.
Book – Big fan of fiction. Stephen King is one of my favorite authors.
Thank you once again, Ari! We wish you many wonderful mountain trips in Colorado and all around the world. Btw, Tatry in Poland are quite nice too 🙂
