Can you tell a little bit about your professional life? What is your role in the company and what do you do in your job?
I’m a Senior Consultant, delivering value to our customers by aiding with use of Dynatrace, administration, guidance, and expert troubleshooting. I’ve worked with well over a dozen different clients over about 6 years of consulting and am continuing to learn more every day.
What Dynatrace products do you use? What do you like the most about them?
I’m deep in the weeds with Dynatrace every day. I love that I can see so much detail about my client’s environment which allows me to easily troubleshoot where and why something is slow, crashing, or just causing some sort of errors.
Have you ever had any interesting use case for the Dynatrace product, that you found out to be particularly intriguing? Could you tell us about it?
One of my clients happens to be a company I interact with. I went on their site to purchase, and when attempting to check out, came across a major error which prevented me. I was able to initiate a call with them the next day, discuss what I did, help guide them through finding and analyzing my session in Dynatrace, identify what went wrong, and pass that information to developers to become a new test step when validating new builds of the front end. And, of course, finalize my checkout!
Why do you contribute to the Community? What is your best memory about it?
As a fledgling consultant in the AppMon/DCRUM days, I had a ton of questions about things I didn’t know much about. I sought out coworkers, looked at old support tickets, and utilized the Community a ton.
I’m no master at Dynatrace yet, but someday!
And how about your life outside the IT – what is your biggest passion?
Right now, with all the Covid protocols, I’ve been pouring myself into golf. It’s always been a fun hobby, but the last year and a half I’ve played more rounds of golf than the last 5 years combined. It’s naturally socially distanced, outside, and so long as the Texas sun isn’t too overbearing, enjoyable to be active. I’ve even managed to lower my handicap by a few strokes!
It would also be great if you could share with us your favorite movie, song and/or a book. Let other Community members discover something new and interesting to watch/hear/read 🙂
Favorite Movie: Casino Royale, hands down. I’ve always been a James Bond fan, and that movie I still think is the best of the modern era. Song: I don’t know that I have one single song, but I’m always jamming to EDM/Techno/Dubstep from Timmy Trumpet, DVBBS, or Deadmou5. Book: Fun literature, the “Harry Potter” series was a significant part of me growing up, while more recently “Rich Dad Poor Dad” really opened my eyes to financial freedom and what I want to do long term.
