Hello Community!
It’s time for another Employee Member of the Month award. Winner for June is a great example how we can help others in the best way. @Alonso de C. answers are always top-notch. Thanks to providing screenshots and links to our documentation, he makes all the answers clear and easy to understand. And other users are really appreciating this. Here is an interview with him – let's all know him a little bit better.
Can you tell a little bit about your professional life? What is your role in the company and what do you do in your job?
I have been working for Dynatrace as a DXS Consultant for almost three years now. AS a DSX consultant, I get to work with many of our customers as a trusted advisor by helping them during the installation, enablement, and adoption of Dynatrace.
What Dynatrace products do you use? What do you like the most about them?
In my position, I work with many different customers from different industries. So, I need to adapt to their architecture and the technologies that they are using. Throughout this time, I have work on projects with NAM, AppMon, AppMon on Mainframe, Classic Synthetic, and Dynatrace.
All our products have their strengths and weakness. Personally, I'm always amazed by the power of Dynatrace and how simple it is to install it and start getting relevant information about your application's performance.
Have you ever had any interesting use case for the Dynatrace product, that you found out to be particularly intriguing? Could you tell us about it?
One thing that I really like is to use the SDK and create custom plugins, but one thing that sometimes can be overlooked is the ability to download log files on demand.
The Logistics team of one of my customers rely on a CSV report that their application writes and stored locally, that they needed to retrieve regularly. We made some modifications to the name and manually added the path to the process so that the agent could detect them. Now they can download the report directly from the Dynatrace UI without the need of SSH to the servers.
Why do you contribute to the Community? What is your best memory about it?
Personally, I love helping people and reading all the product ideas; it gives me an idea of how the community is using Dynatrace and the direction that the product is taking.
And how about your life outside the IT – what is your biggest passion?
I recently got a puppy, so I spend most of my free time training, playing, and exercising with my dog (we still need to practice on the training part :D).
I love movies, traveling, and exploring new cultures with my fiancée. And since I have a sweet tooth, most likely you will find me looking for a dessert or ice cream shop regardless of the weather.
It would also be great if you could share with us your favorite movie, song and/or a book. Let other Community members discover something new and interesting to watch/hear/read 🙂
Book - I love reading fictional novels, and one of my favorite ones is "The Analyst" by John Katzenbach. I was addicted to it from the beginning to the end.
For TV Show, I recommend "Money Heist". I didn't like the last season, but the first two are fantastic.
For Music - Perhaps not a lot of people will know this band, but it was the first song I dedicate to my fiancée "Personajes" by Los Claxons.
Everyone’s talking about “Money Heist”, I guess it’s finally a time for me to give it a try 😉 Thank you so much for this interview Alonso, I hope you are as much enjoying your presence in the forum, as we are happy for you being here.
