Our Employee Member of the Month for March 2020 shared his knowledge about Dynatrace on many occasions. That being said, our choice for this award was really easy this month and we are happy that we can finally reward his passion. Let’s hear from the winner himself - @Dallas P.!
Can you tell a little bit about your professional life? Where do you work and what do you do in your job?
I started working in IT when I was 19 while attending college for an Information Systems degree. I’ve had a wide variety of responsibilities ranging from IT Support to creating business reports. My role at Dynatrace is as a Consultant for the Expert Services group where I help clients get the most value from their Dynatrace investment.
What is your story with Dynatrace? Why did you start using our products and for what project?
My favorite Product is Dynatrace SaaS, but I have worked with Dynatrace Managed Offline, Synthetic Classic, and AppMon. Dynatrace SaaS is great because I can walk into work in the morning and find my cluster has been updated to the newest version with a cool feature enabled. Now I just need to find out how to get application teams to restart and test legacy applications automatically… 🙂
Have you ever had any interesting use case for Dynatrace product that you found out to be particularly intriguing? Could you tell us about it?
An interesting use case for Dynatrace that I’ve ran into would be monitoring Web Application Health for an e-commerce application on Black Friday. Pulling an all-nighter at a client’s site because of the insane amount of traffic e-commerce websites get on Black Friday really puts into perspective how important applications are to modern business.
What brought you to our community? What is your best memory about it?
I contribute because the Community it’s a great place to share my knowledge with people outside of the Dynatrace organization and to hear feedback on the product.
Dashboarding is in a much better place now because of the collaboration.
And how about your life outside the IT – what is your biggest passion?
Outside of work, my biggest passion is travelling to music festivals. This is where I spend all of my vacation time. So far, I have been to festivals in the U.S and Canada and have plans to fly to Europe this summer. Some of my best friends and deepest connections have been made through music festivals.
It would also be great if you could share with us your favorite movie, song and/or a book. Let other Community members discover something new and interesting to watch/hear/read 🙂
Favorite Movie: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Favorite Book: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Favorite Song: My Friends and I – GRiZ
Don’t forget to wear some nice headphones 🙂
Thank you so much for this interview Dallas! And, of course, for your work in the Community, you are really doing a great job here. As for the European Music Festivals - there is a great one in the Tricity, close to our R&D Lab in Gdansk. Hope to see you there someday 🙂
