Dear Community members,

We're excited to share some big news: the Dynatrace Community is moving to a new platform, Discourse. Our current platform served us well, but it stopped keeping up with where the Community is headed. After testing several options, we chose Discourse — a modern platform that gives us more flexibility and better performance. You'll also notice some welcome upgrades along the way, like Markdown support, a built-in AI assistant, and faster, smarter search across the Community.

Here's what's happening, what's staying the same, and what you have to look forward to.

🕑 When are we moving?

We're targeting the end of October 2026 for the switch. The exact date isn't locked in yet — we'll share it as soon as it's confirmed.

☺️ What does it mean for you?

This is the part we want to be crystal clear about, because it's what affects you directly. You don't need to do anything, and you won't lose what matters.

  • Your account comes with you — no new account, no new password. If you sign in through your Dynatrace/SSO account, that keeps working too.
  • Your history is preserved — your profile, post count, and kudos move with you.
  • Your content is safe — only content that's no longer relevant (for example, threads about product versions we no longer support) is archived and hidden, never deleted.
  • Your recognition stays — ranks, badges, and awards carry over.
  • Your links won't break — existing URLs redirect to Discourse, so bookmarks, shared links, and search results keep working.

🔄 A few things that change

Most of what you know carries over — but a handful of things work a little differently on the new platform:

  • A couple of preferences to set up again — Discourse handles notifications and topic subscriptions a little differently, so those settings won't carry over.
  • RSS feeds — you'll need to resubscribe after the move, but they'll keep working.
  • Leaderboards get a fresh start — your history and recognition all carry over, but leaderboards reset for everyone.

⚙️ Will there be downtime?

There'll be a short maintenance window during the switch, and we're planning it to keep disruption to a minimum. Once the migration date is set, we'll let you know well in advance.

📒 We want to hear from you

This is your Community, and we want its new home to feel right. If you have questions, concerns, or ideas, drop them in the comments below — we'll be reading and replying. Keep an eye out for a short survey soon, too, where you can share more detailed feedback and help shape the new experience.

🛟 Something went wrong?

If anything looks off with your account once we've switched over, email us at [email protected] and we'll help you sort it out.

Thanks for being part of the Dynatrace Community. We can't wait to welcome you to your new home!
