In the Dynatrace Community we want to reward your passion, participation, and engagement, so there are various gamification initiatives and rewards (virtual and real) in place. It’s our way of saying thank you for all the good you bring to the Community!
Besides ranks and badges, which are automatic, participation in all our engagement programs is optional. We encourage you to take part, but only if it sounds fun!
Challenges
There’s a new opportunity to challenge your creativity and your Dynatrace knowledge in the Community challenges forum every couple of weeks.
Participate and earn a Monthly Challange Award!
Community Member of the Month Award
We appreciate members who have consistently and significantly contributed to the Dynatrace Community, for example, helping others in the forums, sharing innovative product plugins, extensions, and ideas for enhancement, or attending webinars and Dynatrace events! Each month we recognize a Community member in two categories: Customer/Partner and Employee. The award: a 100$ gift code at the Dynatrace store, a dedicated article, and 200 bonus points!
You can’t be nominated more than once a year, but it shouldn’t stop you from doing your best in the Community!
Ranks
User rank is another form of gamification on our forum. Every user starts as a Newcomer, and, at a pace depending on their activity in the Community and knowledge of Dynatrace, gradually climbs up the ranking ladder.
You can see each user’s rank next to their username if you ever want to get a quick idea of their level of involvement in the Community.
Below is the list of ranks you can have in the Community:
In order to reach the highest ranks in our forum and become a Super User, you need to not only provide valuable content and answers that are approved as solutions but also get bonus points for various participation activities in the forum, such as creating a tip article or winning the Community Challenge.
Our Super Users (“DynaMights”) have an access to a number of exclusive features of our forum: access to a closed group where they can network with other Dynatrace experts, moderation rights, and an ability to send private messages to other Super Users. You can recognize them by a little logo by their names:
Read more about DynaMights here.
Dynatrace Employees and DynaMights have a title before their rank, so you can quickly identify users from those groups. The rules for ranks are still the same for them.
Bonus points
As we already mentioned above, to reach the highest ranks in our forum you have to gain bonus points for additional activities.
Here are the Community activities for which you can earn those points:
Bonus points are awarded on a monthly basis. You can check your bonus count on your profile page.
Leaderboards
In our Leaderboards, you can quickly see which users are top kudoed in each sub-forum.
There are no direct awards for participation in Leaderboards, but sometimes winning – making it to the top of the list – is the only reward a person needs 🙂
Badges
Another way you can be rewarded for your contribution to the Community is through badges. You get one for performing a specific activity, for example for getting 25 kudos on your posts or viewing a particular number of others’. Each has its own unique icon, some are harder to get than others - you should feel proud of every single one of them!
You can find all your badges on your profile page, as well as those you haven't yet received. We are adding new badges all the time so you always have new highs to conquer!
Community Rock Star Award
Our highest honor, the Rock Star Award, is given out annually during the Dynatrace Perform conference. This award recognizes Dynatrace Community members who have provided exceptional contributions over the course of the year. The winners get invited to take center stage at Perform and receive a special prize that every digital performance rock star will appreciate 🌟
