GKE monitoring vs Kubernetes monitoring

Hello,

There are multiple ways of monitoring GKE and (other GCP services) in Dynatrace. But for GKE you can also use the "Regular" Kubernetes way of monitoring. and there are even GKE extensions (2/0) available.

What would be the best to use, and is the "old" Kubernetes sustainable in the future?

Who can give me a little guidance, roadmap?
