How to Change Bar Chart Colors Based on Threshold in Dynatrace?

GerardoAud

I am working with a bar chart in Dynatrace that visualizes storage capacity usage.

Currently, I have split the bar into two colors:

  • Orange: Refers to "Total Capacity Used."
  • Green: Refers to "Total Capacity Available."

Now, I would like to enhance the visualization by changing the color.

Specifically:

  • If the "Total Capacity Used" exceeds a certain threshold, the bar should change to a defined color (e.g., red) instead of staying orange.
  • If the value is below the threshold, the bar should retain its color.

Is there a way to configure this behavior in Dynatrace? Could you provide a step-by-step guide or direct me to relevant documentation?

Hi @GerardoAud ,

As far as I know, Dynatrace doesn't currently support dynamic configuration of colors in dashboards that are affected by thresholds. However 2 suggestions here:

1) This could be a potential product suggestion. You can make a community post suggesting this as a product idea.

2) If this is not of importance in terms of a visualization, you can use anomaly detectors & problem notifications to alert on these thresholds instead.

Unless - and for clarification, you're not just talking about the refresh of the page to reflect these colors? Since Dynatrace does support the threshold for the multi-range, the colors should change when they enter the threshold.
