How to combine two metrics and show them in data explorer honeycomb, in green or red ?

Hi guys,

Customer is working with Managed platform and ask to combine performance metric and availability metrics on the same honeycomb dashlet and mark it in red if one of the metrics is falling their threshold.

Tried already few approaches but till now did not succeeded to came up with something that work 🤔 ... any suggestions?

I think with one dashlet it will not work nicely. Only dashlet that displays multiple colorable metrics with separate thresholds is table, but you will need same metric dimensions to place data in same line of table. Only option that comes to my mind is to use several small single number tiles arranged in some kind of array.

Tried to sell them separated honeycomb dashlets but it did not fit to the entire dashboard to show single value 😏

In Dynatrace Managed you cannot directly combine two different metrics (for example, performance and availability) into a single honeycomb tile and have it change color when either one breaches a threshold.
But IMO u can achieve this use an SLO (Service Level Objective). With an SLO you can define success criteria based on multiple metrics (for example: availability ≥ 99% AND response time ≤ 2s). The SLO evaluation will automatically combine these conditions, and the honeycomb tile for the SLO will change its color according to the overall status.

Tried the SLO before start this thread after I did not find a way how to set the thresholds to mark it in RED if one of the SLI is breathed or both of them.   

Can you please help and show how to set the SLO you mentioned and how the SLO is mark in RED if one or both of the SLIs are breach? (i.e. OR not AND)
