Data growth problem in Casandra

Hi,

We have a problem in the environment as our data on Cassandra has increased by over 300GB in a few days. Nothing has been changed on the server configuration or monitoring configuration side. We are using version 1.282 - anyone encountered this?

Have you checked if there was any traffic spike? You can also check Cassandra storage location and see what files are biggest. This can help in finding the root cause.

Hi,

It turned out that the client had an Isilion outage and for some reason they were backing up inside the Casandra folders. Problem explained.
