Hello team,
I have a customer in China on Dynatrace Managed due to regulations in the country. However, all other sites in Europe are on Dynatrace SaaS where they can leverage Grail and all the other new features(Notebook, AppEngine, Workflow, AutomationEngine, etc). My champions and partners in China would like to know if we can provide any alternative solutions in Managed to use those new features or do we have any Roadmap to share for DT Managed in 2024. After all, there isn't any plan to move to SaaS in the short term for the customer. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Leon

Hi @LeonHu - thanks for sharing this point of view and needs.
Grail is the Dynatrace database designed explicitly for observability data. It is a unified storage solution for logs, metrics, traces, events, etc. All data stored in Grail is interconnected within a real-time model that reflects the topology and dependencies within a monitored environment.
Grail is architected as a Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) data lakehouse, scaling to thousands of nodes. On-premises Managed Services deployments are more frequently associated with 3, 12, or up to 30-node clusters. The underlying infrastructure attributes must be consistently implemented, controlled, and balanced at a massive scale, which is not practical in physical data centers.

Dynatrace Managed continues to be the market-leading solution for customers with mandatory on-premises requirements, and Dynatrace will provide monthly product updates as before. We still bring innovations to Dynatrace Managed. Please contact an account executive to set up a call with the product team, and we can present a detailed roadmap for this year for Dynatrace Managed. Note, as mentioned above Grail will unlikely be available to Dynatrace Managed.
