Hi All ,
1) Is Dynatrace OneAgent/ActiveGate aware of all the nodes in the cluster or it sends data only to the node/environment from where it is deployed?
How does the node failover in a Dynatrace Managed cluster work if I have a cluster with 2 nodes and 1 node is down will the OneAgent send data automatically to the other node?
2) Will I be able to access the data of one host from all the environment in a cluster? How and in what interval the data is synced between the nodes?
Thanks & Regards,
Suganya N

Hello Suganya,
Here is some information about the cluster active gates and how they work:
"If an ActiveGate isn't reachable, OneAgents will try to contact other ActiveGates. OneAgents will always prefer ActiveGates of the highest available priority as long as at least one of them is reachable. If more than one such ActiveGate is available, OneAgents will try to switch between the available ActiveGates on a regular basis to achieve proper load balancing.
If all ActiveGates of the highest priority are temporarily unreachable, OneAgents will switch to the next lower priority ActiveGates and continue checking in the background for availability of higher priority ActiveGates."

That’s exactly how it works. ActiveGate is deployed at each cluster node.
Furthermore, if node is down you cannot access transaction storage data (file system data on node). Other data from Cassandra and ElasticSearch are replicated on other nodes.

Hi David and Radoslaw ,
Thank you for the clarification , ActiveGate is deployed at each cluster node does it mean a cluster active gate is dedicated to one node to which it's deployed .
So i can't use a single cluster active gate to send the data to multiple nodes/tenants in a cluster ?

If there’s a cluster AG installed then it has a higher priority than AG on nodes. All will be available to OneAgents from all envs. If one becomes unavailable then others will be used.
Only the Environment AG is dedicated to one environment.
