For distributed tracing, is the data the same or different when using the classic app compared to the new app?
When testing the new app, we have experienced this error...
Some data could not be collected or transmitted. This is most likely due to a resource congestion on the network, host, or process level in your monitored environment (Diagnostic code: C1)
Is it possible to disable the Classic app?

Both views should display the same traces. Do you see this in new but not in the classic app for the same trace? Have you noticed any gaps in the purepath between the two? If a message appears in new but not in the classic app, that suggests new may be more accurate—unless both views are identical and you see no gaps.
Regarding disabling Classic, it is one of the core apps which managed by dynatrace. Please check with Dynatrace Support to confirm whether it can be disabled but I think it can’t be disabled, but you can prevent access to it.
