Failover data loss

Dear Team,

We have a query here. We deployed 3 Envi AG in 3 regions with failover mechanism using network zones. Now the question here is like if the AG1 gets failed due to same reason then it's going to pick another AG2 or AG3 for data flow(Ex. : data flow from azure) then we want to confirm the time it take to flow the communication seamlessly for this switchover and in-between this is there any data loss like if it takes 5 mins to switch to another AG then for that time being - there will be any data loss or how it is/. For now, there's no OneAgent installed - so kindly answer as per ActiveGate requirement only!

And if there is data loss, then how can we minimize it?

If no data loss, then how will Dynatrace recover it?

Kindly answer these questions asap.

Hi @gauravpayghan__
As part of ActiveGate failover, there are several ways in which OneAgent can behave. If it has access to AG1, which is operational, it will send data without any loss — it should have an internal buffer to prevent that. There might be a slight delay until the cluster receives the data.
Another option is a configuration where OneAgent bypasses the ActiveGate and communicates directly with the cluster. In that case, data loss shouldn't occur either.
However, it all depends on the configuration of the ActiveGates and the individual OneAgents — specifically whether they can see each other across regions.

Currently there's no oneagent - only Activegate is there - answer on that perspective - The above provided inputs are well known.
