How to create hostcustomproperties.conf file properly?

Hello guys,

I tried to create hostcustomproperties.conf in order to define metadata for my systems monitored without success.

I followed the guide: https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/how-to-use-dynatrace/hosts/configuration/define-tags-and-meta...

AppName=easyTravel

Environment=Dev

Organization=D1P

Owner=john.doe@dynatrace.com

Support=https://www.dynatrace.com/support

I also restarted the dynatrace agent service but on DynatraceManaged I cannot see the metadata I previously added.

Please can anyone help me?

3 questions:

1. Is the file encoded in UTF-8?

2. Are you sure you have placed the file in correct directory and it has proper permissions?

3. Have you checked agent logs?

thanks for your suggestion.

I resolved my issue.

The problem is due to %PROGRAMDATA% (I thought was C:\Program Files (x86)\dynatrace\oneagent\agent\conf) instead it is C:\ProgramData\dynatrace\oneagent\agent\config
