Hi,

If OneAgent is installed, a problem will be created when host or monitoring connection lost automatically.

You can configure also be alerted on graceful host shutdowns.

You can find more details in host anomaly detection in the documentation.

You have here an answer when OneAgent is removed.

I created a custom alert if prod host don't send us CPU data for 10min or CPU consumption in 0

In my case this custom missing cpu samples alert was the only one to be 100% effective not matter what the cause or the event ( host reboot / shutdown/ crash, network issue, OneAgent hiccups / stopped / uninstalled / restart / reinstalled)

Indeed :

  • In some cases, AIX OneAgent "interferences" with other monitoring solutions lead to cpu metric gaps not detected otherwise (fix : happy I could uninstall the other monitoring solution).
  • On some Windows box we never really understood why some time we got (not anymore) loss of OneAgent metrics detected only by this cpu samples missing alert (fix: upgrade OneAgent).
  • No other OneAgent / Host availability alerts caught these cases.

Hello @Malaik

In addition to the suggested solutions you create OS services monitoring and specify the alerting conditions when the Oneagent service is uninstalled or no longer active.

Peter.
