I would check the FileSystem Extension (you can find the detailed info on the Dynatrace Hub: Filesystem monitoring | Dynatrace Hub). It covers exactly your use case!

Thank you ... under settings -> general , i couldnt find Filesystem monitoring extention option  for my host ... though i can find many other extensions.. Can you please help?

You're welcome! You need to navigate to the Dynatrace Hub (Under Manage section on the left-hand menu).
In there, you can serach for FileSystem, and you will see the instruction to get it up and running.
