Migration of synthetic AG from a drive to another drive

Guide

Hi, Community,

I am trying to migrate my synthetic AG from drive C to drive E because there is some problem with the former drive.

Was wondering if is it possible to do so without downtime AND without losing all the synthetic-monitors configured?

Appreciate any feedback, thank you!

You need to uninstall the AG and then reinstall. You will then need to add the ActiveGate back into the location, if you did not choose this as an option during the install. This is a very quick process.

When uninstalling, the AG will wait to finish running all the monitor executions it has already picked up. The others will wait for the new AG to be up and running and will then be run by it.
The best way to have no downtime is to add a 2nd AG to the location and that will then take over running any monitors while the 1st AG is down
