Custom applications: Issues with Dynatrace OpenKit instrumentation

If you've encountered an issue related to Dynatrace OpenKit, for example, if no data is sent to your custom application, ensure the following.

• Your technology is supported by Dynatrace. See Technology support | Dynatrace OpenKit.
• You're using the official OpenKit release.

• You've enabled logging and checked the logs to see what went wrong. Also, you've checked whether the OpenKit log output contains messages that indicate connection problems. See Dynatrace OpenKit logging for details.
• You used the correct property values that are provided in your custom application settings. For details, see Instrument your application using Dynatrace OpenKit.

• You've confirmed that Dynatrace and your Cluster ActiveGate are reachable from your company network.

• You've confirmed that the ActiveGate is configured with a valid SSL certificate.

• If you've using a .NET Framework version lower than 4.7: Starting with April 2022, Dynatrace SaaS only supports TLS 1.2+. For this reason, using a .NET Framework version lower than 4.7 might require additional configuration.
