I need help with identifying which deprecated Kubernetes metrics are used with my dynatrace environment.
With the release of ActiveGate version 1.253, all the old metrics will be decommissioned.
There is no automatic migration from old metrics to new metrics, however, you can use this tool https://metricaudit.services.dynatrace.com/ to identify deprecated Kubernetes metrics that are being used.
To use this tool, you only need to provide your environment and API access token.
It checks for the occurrence of deprecated metrics within the environment and it will generate an output of a list of affected assets, incl. information about which deprecated metric is used.
This information should help you during migration.
For more information on new Kubernetes metrics, please read this page https://community.dynatrace.com/t5/Dynatrace-tips/Introducing-new-Kubernetes-metrics-for-improved-us...
Great writeup, much better then checking each tile one by one on dashboards! Thanks @jonghpark
Hello,
Thanks for sharing.
Any similar tool, extension for example, to accomplish the same? Some of us may/should not be able to run an external/public tool.
Thanks. Tibebe
Hi Tibebe,
I'm not aware of any other tools, but I can see the scenarios where users cannot run external/public tools.
You may want to raise this in the Open Q&A forum or comment in the post: Introducing new Kubernetes metrics for improved user experience (link is available in my original post.)
Hopefully, you can find your answer there.
regards,
Jong
