Steps to Create a Maintenance Window

Go to Settings > Availability Monitoring > Maintenance Windows

Click “Create Maintenance Window”

Fill in the name and description (e.g., "Synthetic Monitor Maintenance")

Select the type – Planned or Unplanned

Set the schedule – One-time, Recurring, or Custom time window

Define the scope – choose specific synthetic monitors, management zones, or tags

Under “What to suppress”, ensure Synthetic Monitoring is checked

Click Save
Use Case: Synthetic Monitoring
In my video, I demonstrate a scenario where a synthetic monitor is configured to test website availability every 5 minutes. During a planned deployment window, the website goes offline temporarily. Without a Maintenance Window, this triggers false alerts and problem tickets.
By scheduling a Maintenance Window during this deployment:

The synthetic monitor still runs, but alerts are suppressed

This avoids noise in the environment and false incident escalations

The availability reports remain clean and accurate
