Following an incident with One Agent Dynatrace using ports 50002 and 50003 dedicated to an application hosted on the server

I followed the procedure to configure another port: The Procedure is available on the Dynatrace website

the procedure is to edit the WATCHDOGUSERCONFIG .CONFIG file in C: \ Program Files (x86) \ dynatrace \ oneagent \ agent \ conf

in this file I indicate the desired port range:

Editing the watchdoguserconfig.config file works, Dynatrace uses the selected ports.

However, when updating the One agent Dynatrace the configuration of the WATCHDOGUSERCONFIG.CONFIG file disappears. The contents of the C: \ Program Files (x86) \ dynatrace \ oneagent \ agent \ conf folder are overwritten by the new version. It is replaced by the watchduguserconfig.conf.template file as originally

How can we fix this issue?

Hi Patrice,

you were editing the wrong file. You are supposed to edit watchdoguserconfig.conf , which is is located in the following directory: %ProgramData%\dynatrace\oneagent\agent\config
