If let's say I disable the RUM injection in process level, when I enable them later I think most likely I need a process-restart right?
How about the following scenario?
1. I never disable the RUM in process level.
2. But when detecting the application detection rule in the first place, I disable the RUM radio-button/switch.
3. Later on I enable the RUM of the configured application by toggle the radio-button/switch.
So after step 3, do I need a service-restart of the underlying process?

No, you don't. If the processes run in full-stack mode, RUM injection start as soon as you enable the switch.
