How to get physical network adapter while client is connected via VPN?

We do have a issues, that we are not able to see which interface (WLAN, LAN or GSM) is used when a client is connected to the corporate network via a VPN channel. 
So we are not capable to monitor the application while a user (client-device) is connect via GSM-network.

@ksdjf were you able to get more information on this? Dynatrace is just starting to get into the network realm but might not be able to statisfy your request 100%
